Tidbits from Media Summit 2007
February 8th, 2007 | by PHC |I am at the
Media Summit this week in NYC to get a feel of advertising and media trends.
ILOG has recently worked with media and Internet customers on interesting
personalization, web messaging enhancement, and advertising applications. We
have also opened interesting discussions with some of the leading platform and
technology solution providers.
The media
industry is going through an intense creative destruction phase. Consumers have
become increasingly fickle and multi-tasking on multiple platforms (TV, PC,
cell phone); the line between consumers and producers has blurred; the pace of
innovation on the Internet and the growing penetration of broadband is forcing
TV to play catch up; web advertising is finally challenging TV ads.
The
conference still has an “old media” feel, both in terms of the panels, the perspective
and even practical matters – very poor wifi access, so blogging this conference
is a bit of challenge – quite a change from the typical Internet / web 2.0
conferences! I will follow up on this post with specifics on topics of interest
I gathered at the conference.
